Akko (アッコ, Akko) is a Guardian ÄRM that summons a giant mobile clam that, unlike most Guardians, allows the user to still move while summoning it.

Techniques[]

  • Pearl Attack (ペルルアタック, Peruruatakku): Akko darts out a rain of pearls from its mouth.
  • Rolling Akko (ローリングアッコちゃん, Rōringuakko-chan): The user jumps into Akko and spins it at breakneck speed.

Etymology and Origin[]

"Akko" is the local Hebrew name of Acre, a city in northern Israel. Akko is one of several cities that hold a cult site for the ancient Syrian goddess Atargatis, who is described as being a mermaid-goddess.

History[]

In her batttle against Nanashi, Aqua summons her Guardian ÄRM, Akko, and it casually drags itself across the rough snowy surface towards him. He jumps over it to dodge, activating his Weapon ÄRM, Griffin Lance, to attack the Guardian as it came back around. Nanashi's initial strike barely caused a dent in the clam's hard shell, as Aqua sings Akko's praises regarding its defense. Aqua calls for Akko to use its Pearl Attack, and the Guardian leaps into the air to shoot countless pearls out of its mouth at Nanashi. He frantically runs out of the way and manages dodge all of them. Aqua changes her strategy and recalls Akko into ÄRM form.

Later in the battle, she summons Akko back out onto the battlefield and chooses to hide inside Akko for one final and last chance attack. Using the Rolling Akko-chan technique, Akko spins counterclockwise rapidly with Aqua inside and lunges toward him. Nanashi, however, leaps over the spinning clam and uses his Nature ÄRM, Electric Eye, to zap Akko and knock out a very dizzy Aqua from its mouth.

In Other Media[]

In the video games, Akko-chan is an obtainable ÄRM that Snow can use. Similar to Cushion Jelly, it wraps the user in a hard shell to completely blocks all attacks. The activation time is 8 seconds, and the player can't do anything during that time, but it will help increase the synchronization rate of other ÄRMs.

MÄR Heaven: Devil of Caldea[]

Akko-chan is found in the Undersea Volcanic Caves (B1F) by using a Pop'n Bomb at the exit to Torneå Island. It only comes in Class 5.
